New Moon In Aquarius

February 2nd sees the new moon in Aquarius – a time of restless movement, of creating space for ones self. We feel the need for independence, and for movement outside of our (albeit self imposed) boundaries. We need to spread our wings and fly! We are looking at things like future trends, and involvement with community on a large scale. Aquarius teaches us the lesson of objectivity. of discerning the facts in any given situation, as well as detaching ourselves from the results.

It is going to be very important in this the year of the Emperor to live our lives in alignment with our true purpose, as opposed to being and doing what other people think that we should be or do. We will end up redefining ourselves, and finding our true focus. This is a time of sharing ideas, and, through this. of meeting new people. Expect this to happen on a personal and a career basis. Allow yourself to get to know people that would not normally be a part of your world – they have something to offer you, and you have something to offer them.

What intentions are you setting on this new moon? I have intentions across the board -professional and personal. I intend to move fast this year, with purpose and integrity. I will draw to me what I need, and offer what I can to others along the way. For this new moon, I drew the Four of Wands. Setting down a foundation, accessing my creative self, working with Elemental Fire – all of which are exhibiting themselves in my life right now.

This new moon coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on February 3rd. This is very much a celebration of Spring. This New Year celebrates the Year of the Rabbit. The fourth sign in the Chinese Zodiac, Rabbit is said to be a lucky symbol. In Chinese philosophy, this is a year to slow down, to negotiate, to place emphasis on home, family and security. Rabbit is also the symbol of the Moon, meaning that whatever is wished for this year will manifest.

Taken together, I think we all have a stellar year coming up!
