TABI’s Tenth Anniversary

One of my favorite Tarot organizations, TABI (Tarot Association of the British Isles) is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. The anniversary will be celebrated at their yearly Tarot Conference in Birmingham, England on the 23rd and 24th of July. They are welcoming visitors, as well as TABI members (I am a proud member!) to their Conference. If those of us from across the pond can make it past customs, we are welcome to attend. 😉

There will be an informal get together over dinner on Friday, July 22nd, with a follow-up in the bar. All attending are encouraged to bring their favorite Tarot decks/books, and be prepared to chat about all things Tarot!

The Conference begins with a bang at 10 am on Saturday morning with a workshop exploring working with Tarot and Oracles together, presented by Cilla Conway (creator of the “Devas” deck as well as the “Intuitive Tarot”). Bring your favorite decks and prepare to have fun!
Lunch, my dears, is a three-course sit down affair! I am certain that Hestia will be presiding over all of the details! (I love Hestia!) I am so jealous – after lunch John Matthews (creator of the “Wildwood Tarot”) will be presenting the Bow Spread. John – I hope that at some point in time you are presenting at a conference that I am at!

The final workshop session will be on working intuitively with the Crowley-Harris “Thoth Tarot”. The presenter will be Emma Sunerton-Burl, a lovely lady that I just had the good fortune to meet over the Internet in connection with the “Individuum Universal” deck.
Will Worthington, creator of the “Druid Craft Tarot” and the “Wildwood Tarot” will be in the Conference room to chat and share some f his original artwork. Again – jealous face! I have the “Wildwood Tarot” on my wish list, and do hope to someday meet Mr. Worthington.
After dinner, everyone is heading back to the bar to relax. Ummm There will also be this little contest – well, a Tarot quiz, actually. There will be a prize for the winner, as well as more party games, with Tarot oriented prizes, AND the winning entry from the TABI Art Competition (as chosen by Will Worthington).

Mary Collin (the lovely lady who introduced me to the “Individuum Tarot”) begins the Sunday session with a presentation on working as a professional Tarot reader. Mary is a very down to earth person – she will be sharing the pros and the cons, and sharing tips from her own experience. Please bring your questions – this is a very wise lady!

Emma Sunerton-Burl will be presenting the final session for the Conference after lunch. She will be sharing techniques that she uses as a professional Tarot counselor, techniques that help the individual reader to provide the most supportive reading for their client. Please bring your questions with you. No question is silly – if you have a question, you can be sure that others are facing the same situation, and have the same question.

Alison Cross, TABI Chair, assures me that all are welcome, and that no one will be left sitting on their own. Everyone is encouraged to come to the Conference, share in the sessions, share their thoughts, and be prepared to have a great time! You can come for one day, or both days. Remember, if you come on Friday, there is a get together then too!

I hope to be there next year, and I would love to have more of my U.S. friends thinking along the same lines. Here’s to TABI having a top notch Conference, and a joyous Ten Year Anniversary celebration!

St George’s Day Spread

This spread was gifted to us by Alison Cross this am via Face Book (great place to have coffee and chat!). I used the Gaian Tarot – one of my favorite decks.

The Maiden – this card represents your goal – Four of Air (Swords)
St George – this card represents YOU in relationship to The Maiden – Justice
The Dragon – what holds you back from achieving success – The Teacher (Hierophant)
The Sword – the energies of this card will help drive you forwards – Eight of Earth (Pentacles)
The Shield – the energies of this card indicates something you would do well to protect against – Guardian of Earth (Queen of Pentacles)
Final Card – The Magician

Your final card in the spread represents what might happen if you CAN slay the dragon using the Sword and Shield info and obtain The Maiden. The likely outcome card.

My goal is to create sacred space, and that is very true. I am in the midst of major changes, and I need to be able to hold my space to give these changes “room to operate”.

In relation to my goal, I am being a very demanding little person! I am standing there going “Universe, it is time for this to happen!” I have put in the work, now I want to see the results!

What is holding me back from accomplishing my goals is my Cappie nature, IMHO. Outmoded structures/beliefs need to be acknowledged, loved and then released.

What I need to protect myself against IS myself. Guardian of Earth (Queen of Pentacles). I need to be less conservative – especially in the financial sector.

If I can slay the dragon … the world is mine, and I can manifest the life that I wish!
