Vampire's Offspring cover
“The Vampire’s Offspring” is the sixth volume in a proposed series of ten volumes, recounting the story of a love that was found, lost, then searched for through the centuries. This undying love made the man immortal. His story is recounted in an ancient journal that we read as the series progresses. This is epic poetry!

Prologue

“Hell hath no fury like a woman  scorned”

pales in comparison

to immortals as parents when children are stolen.”

“The Vampire’s Offspring” begins with a rant from the immortals to those that are mortal – those that have cruelly enslaved their Gargoyle children. We hear talk of angels and double-agents, and storied portals of which humankind has no idea who carved them.  We hear of delusions, and of false faith. We hear the whisper of memory-stone prisons. We read of cathedrals seen as prison-shoes of stone.

Young that are not allowed to find their own history, their own ancestry. Blind to their own strengths. Humankind – your fears carry magic! Gaze into the eyes of an immortal, and see your own inner universe. Immortals are the magical twilight for humankind that bridges their day and night.

Eternal grace is never stone still.

What a lovely journey this epic poem is becoming! A strong, diabolical journey.  Stay tuned for Volume 7: Magnetic Love.

PR One Night Stand

“The One Night Stand” is the fifth volume in a proposed series of ten volumes, recounting the story of a love that was found, lost, then searched for through the centuries. This undying love made the man immortal. His story is recounted in an ancient journal that we read as the series progresses. This is epic poetry!

Prologue

“As I grew weary Chitra painted our lives immortal with our love,

to find again our love.

Centuries of infinite moments without us,

each century itself just a moment,

another infinite moment.

Eternally. Always. We find …”

In “The One Night Stand”, our Seeker begins to open bits of consciousness in his sleep.  He is haunted by slow dancing shadows in his dreaming trance. Here the darkness of eternity consumes infinity. Heaven morphing into hell … and back. She was there in his slumber. Was this false? Was she there? Her hand moved over him, bringing back memories. Here we have a dual dance – the Seeker and She. She spoke to him of her Heroine’s journey. She is his immortal of the lit day, he is her dark night.

What a lovely journey this epic poem is becoming! Stay tuned for Volume 6: The Vampire’s Offspring.

Succubus

“Prescient Remembrance –Volume 4: Succubus” is the fourth volume in a proposed ten volume series of poetry. The first three volumes were “Origins”, “Walking the Night”, and “Going Into Town”. The storyline is that of a man that has found, and then lost, the great love of his life. He searches for her through the centuries, his undying love making him immortal.

We read the story of the immortal (Vampire) through the pages of an ancient journal. In Volume 4, we move beyond the background of the story into the story of the man himself, his movinginto his fantasy life, and what he discovers there.

From the book:

“I will find you.” he writes.

“I have you inside, You my Gorgeous Only.

As I grew weary Chitra painted my life immortal for my love,

for my Gorgeous Only …

I will find you again.”

The man describes himself, and his Gorgeous One. He is naturally integratged opposites, She is pure animal, perhaps to be seen as a sacred prostitute, wielding Dominion over souls.

If you are drawn to what I consider epic poetry, then you will love this series!

Going Into Town cover

“Going Into Town” is the third volume in a proposed series of ten volumes, recounting the story of a love that was found, lost, then searched for through the centuries. This undying love made the man immortal. His story is recounted in an ancient journal that we read as the series progresses. As I said about the first two volumes … this is epic poetry!

In volume two, we discovered we meet the Priestess Brahmana … the One who will inhabit the man’s dreams. In volume three the man whose story this is goes into town, to remember … to bring back his memories, as it were.

From the book:

Rustication of a Building and Its Homeless

finis terminus propositum obitus perpetuo

It is not for a faulty start

that it is falling now.

It is not for bad genes

as it got this far, falling now.

It was crafted well,

with care and attention

paid to every detail,

as cornice was given a silent rhythm

to frieze over a looming allegory of its façade.

No,

it was never thought

that this building would fall this century.

It was never thought

that weather

would wipe the smile and weight from its many talents,

leaving it,

leaving it to uphold a weary, wayward, itinerant wainscot,

painfully hunched over and bleeding,

holding out cups of grief

in this commonly seen urban graveyard procession “

We read that tears are warming to the soul, and see how memories freeze together in peaceful co-existence. Changing, it is at rest.

Soon to come – Volume 4: Succubus. ‘Nuff said!

Walking The Night cover

In volume one of this series, we were introduced to an ancient journal about a man and his journey over the centuries.  We also learned about the beginning … the very beginning of who and what we are. Volume Two begins  by reintroducing the reader to the ancient journal. From the book:

“We discover the story of a man,

a man whose undying love made him immortal.

Having found love, and losing it for centuries,

having never ceased . . .

( and a hand opens the book by candlelight to discover )

“I will find you.” he writes.

“I have you inside, You my Gorgeous Only.

As I grew weary Chitra painted my life immortal for my love,

for My Gorgeous Only . . .

I will find you again.

Centuries of infinite moments without you,

centuries just themselves moments.

Eternally. Always. I will find you.

I will find you.”

We read about Spirit … we read about Atman. The writing flows … as I said about Volume 1, Jordan’s poetry has that “epic poem” quality. As readers, we are getting it in small enough quantities to be able to digest it, and enjoy it. A verbal visual …a picture in writing for all time.

Enter Brahmana.

Small note: Watch the symbols on the left hand side of the cover image … they change for each volume!

Prescient Remembrance

“Prescient Remembrance” is a story about a vampire, told in the form of a poem. I know nothing about poetry, but I do know a good story! Those who know the inimitable Jordan Hoggard from his Tarot work (Tarot In The Land Of Mystereum, Schiffer Publishing, 2011), know that he pays great attention to detail, that his work flows, and that it has infinite levels. All of these are evident in “Origins”, the first volume of a planned ten volume series.

We begin with a dog-eared, treasured journal … a journal that tells the story of a man. Across the cover of the journal we see his legacy scribed in gold … “Prescient Remembrance”. This is the story of a man whose undying love made him immortal. A love that he found … and then lost for centuries!

From the book:

Dedication

 Dedicated to our lost children

where there forever

they shall reside

under a small lake,

immeasurably deep,

lying high up in the mountains,

where is brewed the thunder,

and in fair weather the dragon sleeps.

Ours is not a lot to be feared.

The dragon is a necessary beast.”

The journal begins with a reinterpretation of the Big Bang Theory. The universe, it seems, began incomplete illumination, not complete darkness. Who knew! The light transformed and transformed, energies forming with in the memory of light to become soulful secrets.

Duality of opposites? Far outclassed by prescient remembrances!

The reader needs to be aware that this is a story that is quickly paced, flowing rapidly. It is an idea story, beginning with the origin of he universe. It is a pleasure to read, but it is a thinking man’s story. We  learn about how our unborn souls were formed, meditating under a glowing full moon.

We read about love, and loving the not-knowing. We read about the seasons, and how they relate to each other. We read about th community of the solar system. We see how Spirit guides us through our senses.

Volume 1 ends with this thought – “To make artifacts of your belongings, you must first learn to fire time. Here – let me show you.”

My feeling is that this series is going to be a piece of literary art, epic poetry akin to “Beowulf”. I intend to pursue it!

The Mystereum Tarot – Chat With Temperance

I am taking a page from my friend Helen Howell’s book, and chatting with the Tarot. In this case, specifically with Temperance. I was kicked rather hard by the latest Mercury retrograde, and by the latest astrological configurations up there in the sky. The good thing about this time period – Aries is doing very well, so my Aries friends are having clear sailing, which I am grateful for! I am getting back on track – healing, as it were, which is why the chat with Temperance. Also, in a bit of synchronicity, Jordan Hoggard, the creative genius behind “Tarot In The Land of Mystereum” has been quite ill with food poisening, and is now on the mend. Temperance energy for Jordan too!

Temperance has agreed to chat with me. We are sitting in my living room, with glasses of iced tea in hand. I want to thank her for her time, and for her wisdom.

I often think of Temperance as the “healing angel” in the deck. The first thing I want to ask Temperance today is “How do you see yourself?”

“My goodness – the healing angel! Thank you very much, that is quite a nice thought! I have never really thought about how I might see myself. I feel that I have a job to do, and that how I do that job depends on the person or people that I am working with, and the nature of the situation. Sometimes the people, or the situation, are ready to be healed, so things can be done in a very gentle manner. However, there are occasions when the people involved, or the situation itself, is blind to the fact that healing is necessary. In that case, the “tough love” part of me comes out. You could say that I see myself as the “middle-man”, in an “As Above, So Below” kind of way.”

“What one word would best describe your world?”

“Balance – the word balance nicely describes my world. My focus, my goal, is to maintain balance in all things.”

“Balance … I like that thought! Whenever you have entered my life you have brought peace and harmony with you. For this I give unending thanks!”

“You are most welcome! I am at my best when a little harmony saves the day!”

“I know this is a strange question, but how do you get along with the Fool?”

“The Fool and I get along famously!” Temperance smiled. “Each of us Archetypes realise that we are working with the Fool within each of you when we enter your life. The Fool and I allow you to see all that you can be. Through the two of us you feel comfortable enough to not only dream your big dreams, but to act to manifest them. The manifestation of your dreams functions as a second level of healing. I help the Fool within to find balance, to act in moderation, and to feel the flow of life.”

“What final words do you have for us, Temperance?”

“I am the essence of stability. I manifest Divine light on the physical plane. I am a benevolent force, and bring about healing on all levels. I act to bring opposing energies together. I bring you the protection that you need in order to heal. I am here to travel with you at any and all times … the only hting thaty ou need to do is ask.”

Thank you, Temperance, for your wisdom, and for you patience. We are the better for y ou.

Are You A Master Gardener?

Are you a master gardener? Do you look at your life as a garden, and take the time to seed it, to nurture it, to weed it, and then to sit back and enjoy the results? If not, then you may want to spend some time with Master Gardener Jordan Hoggard’s incredible new blog! Jordan is the author and artist for the “Mystereum Tarot” (lovingly self-published), and “Tarot In The Land Of Mystereum”, the updated version recently released from Schiffer Books. (Blatant self promotion – my review of “Tarot In The Land Of Mystereum” can be seen here – http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/land-mystereum/review.shtml. My 2008 interview with Jordan can be seen here – http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/interview_jordan_hoggard.shtml.)

This is a deck that is meant to be worked with on all levels, not just used for readings (or the occasional journey, ritual or ceremony – which it does well, with its bright colors!). To this end, Jordan has begun a new blog, which can be seen here: JordanHoggard.wordpress.com. Anyone who knows Jordan, or has seen any amount of his work, knows they are in for a treat! Death As The Master Gardner

I hope that all of  you are following Jordan Hoggard’s new blog on Word Press – http://jordanhoggard.wordpress.com. His latest blog – entitled “Death As The Master Gardner” – gifts the reader with an incredibly in-depth journey with what some consider to be one of the most difficult cards in the deck. Done as a very gentle visualization/journey, the reader is required to be present and take action – Mystereum style! And … Death is allowed to chat on his own!

I am not going to say anything about this blog – you need to experience it for yourself. What I am going to do is to share the reading that I did for myself, using the spread that Jordan offers, the “Treasure of the Stones”. In this spread, the cards are shuffled and divided into three piles, The top card from each pile is read, t hen the cards (stones) are “shaken off”, and the bottom card read. The top card is the chrysalis, the bottom card

Top Cards:
1. The chrysalis of your current idea or situation. Four of Wands
2. The chrysalis of what you need to know about your current idea or situation. The Wheel
3. The chrysalis cracking card. The card of breaking the mold. Six of Pentacles

Bottom Cards:
4. The treasure of your situation from card 1. The Moon
5. The treasure that emerges from what you expected to know from card 2. Knight of Cups
6. The treasure of the magic carpet of flight that emerges from card 3! King of Swords

New Moon In Aries – April 2011

Five of Pentacles, from “Tarot In the Land of Mystereum”, by Jordan Hoggard.

April’s new moon (Sunday, 4/3/2011) occurs in the sign of Aries. While all new moon’s relate to new beginnings, and to setting things in motion, it is important that this new moon is one that carries an enormous amount of power and potential. Think Aries the Ram here! Think Aries the impetuous, headstrong, driven sign of the zodiac. This is a wake up call for all of us – we are going to be resolving (in one fashion or another) long standing issues.

Whatever you have been procrastinating on, you will now find yourself being much, much more decisive about. Along with making those decisions, you will also be acting on them. Expect the unexpected during this new moon, and prepare to be flexible. Being flexible will allow creative energy to flow through you. Being inflexible will end up in feelings of frustration, anger, and perhaps rage … not places that any of us want to even visit, much less live.

With six planets in the fiery sign of Aries, the caveat here is “Think before you act.” Your passions could over-rule common sense if you don’t watch out – whether it be in your personal life or your career. Take the leadership position in your own life at this time … allow yourself to be confident, to take bold steps in an assertive fashion. Make sure that your decisions and actions are in alignment with your belief system. Cutting corners to achieve an end at this point in time will definitely come back to bite you!

I am going to preface what I am about to say with this thought – I am not an astrologer, this is my personal opinion. This new moon is taking place during a Mercury retrograde. One expects delays, snafus, and all kinds of disruptive chaos during a Mercury retrograde. The brash, forward moving energy of Aries will somewhat blunt this. However, if you choose to fight the Aries energy … well, there will be hell to pay!

Channel all of this really cool energy in a constructive manner. Focus on resolving those long standing issues in a positive manner. Trying to force an outcome will not end up well for anyone! This is a good time to free yourself from self-imposed limitations, and to grow in any and all ways. Allow new wisdom to come to you … and it will!

What energy do we have from the Tarot to assist us at this time? From “Tarot In the Land of Mystereum” (by Jordan Hoggard) I drew the Five of Pentacles. A card of chaos (which is how I see the Five’s) is going to assist us in dealing with the raw power of Aries? In his companion book, Jordan reminds us that physical or material problems could restrict our emotions when this card shows up. His suggestion is that we look within ourselves to determine what we can do to improve our situation. This is powerful energy to use to assist us in dealing with the changes this new moon will activate. Remember, these are changes in long standing issues, changes that will free us and allow us to walk our paths with determination and dignity. The message here – “Allow yourself to heal fromt he inside.”
